To monitor the HIV/AIDS pandemic and to survey HIV/AIDS ministries at all levels of the Church.
Duties:
• Focus the Church’s attention on the theological, ethical and pastoral questions in the HIV/AIDS crisis
• Increase HIV/AIDS awareness in our Church
• Reduce the effects of stigmatization by HIV/AIDS
• Continue the process of identifying those whom we are called to serve but may overlook
• Identify the HIV/AIDS ministries and resources at all levels of the Church
• Utilize the resources of other organizations including but not limited to the National Episcopal AIDS Coalition and ecumenical contacts
• Report to the Executive Council on the Church’s response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and respond to resolutions passed by General Convention.
