Airline Travel

The major airport serving the area is the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). Indianapolis is in the Eastern Time Zone, and (as of 2006) observes Daylight Savings Time.

A & I Travel is the designated travel agency for the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society (DFMS). On our behalf they have negotiated discounted rates on air travel with United & Continental Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Airlines for General Convention. These discounts range from 5% to 15% and vary based upon booking class and fare paid. To take advantage of these discounts you can either use A & I Travel or call the airlines directly. Both will charge a nominal booking fee.

A & I will provide information on the lowest fares and possible routings and will be available to support any changes or emergencies that may come up, once the ticket has been purchased. Please call them at 1 (866) 683‑8248 or 1 (901) 271‑2300. Make sure to let them know you are booking for the General Convention in Indianapolis to ensure you receive the appropriate air discounts.

Car Rentals

A & I has also negotiated a group discount with Hertz for your car rental needs. A & I will be happy to book your vehicle for you in connection with your air travel at no additional fee. Parking rates at hotels in downtown Indianapolis varies from $23 to $28 per day for self-parking. Please check each individual hotel’s website for more specific information.

Ground Transportation

IndyGo, Indianapolis’ public transportation network, offers the Green Line (Route 205) as an express transportation option between the airport and the major hotels downtown. The cost is $7 each way. No reservations are required, though you may wish to purchase tickets in advance online. All major credit cards are accepted on the bus, though exact change is required if you prefer to pay in cash.
