Deputations: Forms and Information
For Secretaries of Convention: According to Canon I.1.4.a, dioceses need to choose their Deputies to General Convention no later than one year before the start of General Convention, and House of Deputies Rules of Order III.A.1 specify that a Chair must be designated and the General Convention Office notified, meaning July of 2026.
Once your deputation is elected, please submit that information in the online Deputation Certification Form. You are welcome to submit deputations and alternates together, or separately. We will need the name and an individual email address for each deputy and alternate. To improve communication and support for deputies from the House, we are also collecting the following information this year: cell phone, mailing address, and number of times the deputy has served at General Convention. As in previous conventions, date of birth will also be collected.
If at any point your deputation changes, please submit that information in the online Deputation Change Form.
For Chairs of Deputations: The rules of order for the House of Deputies state that all deputies should have formation in racial reconciliation in the three years prior to General Convention, and report on this formation (or the barriers that prevented a deputy from receiving such formation) no less than four months ahead of General Convention (March 3, 2027). Deputation Chairs can report on the formation of their deputations by filling out this Beloved Community Formation form. If you have any questions about whether a training qualifies, please email contact@houseofdeputies.org.
For International Dioceses: The General Convention Office assists dioceses who are not in the USA in the process of obtaining visas. Please be in touch as soon as your deputies as soon as they are elected by emailing gc.support@episcopalchurch.org and we will assist you.

Meeting space at all of the General Convention hotels has been contracted by The Executive Office of General Convention. Assignment of meeting space to support the work of the General Convention and the meeting of the Episcopal Church Women is our priority. Once these assignments are established, meeting space is available to other Episcopal groups for use.
The following hotels will have meeting space available:
- Sheraton Phoenix Downtown
- Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel
If your group would like to request the use of space for a meal event or meeting function, please complete a meeting room request form by going to:
https://generalconvention.org/meeting-room-request
Meeting space assignments will be confirmed by March 2027. Requests may continue to be submitted after this time.
Once your meeting space is confirmed, it is the responsibility of the group to work directly with the hotel on details of your event or function and to establish credit for charges that might be incurred.
To better assist attendees, we are publishing a Master Calendar that will include affiliated events. Your event will be published on this calendar. If you wish to not publish your event, please make note in the comment section of your request.
